Develop your writing with the mentorship of an acclaimed professional writer and feedback from your peers.

Workshops take place at the QWF office, Suite 3, Atwater Library unless otherwise indicated.

PROJECTING ON THE AUDIENCE’S IMAGINATION – A SPOKEN WORD WORKSHOP*
TWO SATURDAYS, April 10, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and April 17, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and an evening show

This workshop presents you with some of the tools and techniques available to help writers capture the audience's imagination when presenting work to a live audience.

The workshop will be held over two Saturdays, and will cover such topics as writing for presentation, reading live and reciting from memory, microphone technique, dramatic devices, writing & music and writing to be heard.

At the end of the second Saturday workshop participants who want to can perform their work in a public literary showcase in the Atwater Library auditorium.

Participants are asked to bring a short work-in- progress--poetry, prose or monologue--or a short excerpt from a longer work.

Led by Ian Ferrier, poet, performer and musician. He has performed his work in over 400 shows on three continents.

Eight-week workshops: $170 per course ($150 for QWF members) • Intensive workshops: $75 • Call to register and for cancellation policy • Payment by cheque to Quebec Writers’ Federation, 1200 Atwater, Suite 3, Westmount H3Z 1X4, by PayPal (additional fee—please check with office) or by cash at the QWF office (by appointment).
