SUMMARY:Book Launch: Words of Summer
DESCRIPTION:Words of Summer is a tanka-like conversation between two poets\, Elizabeth Paulette-Coughlin and Jennifer Boire\, who wrote to each other every day from mid-June until late August one year\, documenting the unfolding season. Tanka has been used for over a thousand years as an art form and medium of communication\, often by women\, using nature imagery and seasonal references to indirectly suggest emotion. \nA videopoem was recorded with photos and video by Virginie Nolin. Inside the book is a QR code to watch the 28-minute video of the authors reading. \nAuthor Bios\nElizabeth Paulette-Coughlin is an ecopoet and writer living in Montreal and Vale Perkins\, Quebec. Her poems and writings have been published in many chapbooks and anthologies. She co-edited In the Vale (2022)\, a collection of 88 stories\, poems and songs about life in the hamlet of Vale Perkins. Her haiku collection\, Boneset and Yarrow\, was published in 2024. \nJennifer Boire lives in the western part of Montreal and is the author of three books of poems\, Little Mother\, For the Birds\, and Collected Poems in Translation\, and one non-fiction book\, The Tao of Turning Fifty.
