SUMMARY:Book Marketing: From Foundations to Fun
DESCRIPTION:Open to all\nLimited to 12 participants\nOnline workshop* \n  \nSession 1—Marketing Foundations and Reaching Readers \n\nFirst hour: The basics of marketing—your foundations. Ten steps to take to ensure you hit the ground running. Important for new writers but also the core to which established authors should return to upgrade before moving on to other marketing efforts. These are crucial to your success\, but many people overlook or do them poorly\, which often leads to more expensive marketing failing. Get these in place so you can build higher.\nSecond hour: Reaching out and collaborations. Adding a mailing list and newsletter to your marketing tools and using paid newsletters while you build up your own subscribers. Seeing other authors as allies\, not competition as you reach out to wider audiences\, finding ways in which you can collaborate.\n\n  \nSession 2—Cheap\, Free\, Fun and Unusual Marketing \n\n\n\nFirst hour: 20 cheap and free marketing moves to make—this will get you moving and keep your efforts refreshed when you’re feeling stuck or tired of marketing (as we all do from time to time!). Most are free\, the rest are cheap so there’s no excuse for not having a go!\n\n\n\n\nSecond hour: Unusual marketing moves to make. Bored of all the standard marketing\, no matter how important it is? Then liven things up with creative and fun ideas that can be implemented without a vast marketing budget. These will speak to your creativity and help you stand out from the crowd.\n\nWhat should I do to prepare? \nNothing at all! Bring pen and paper so you can make copious notes and enjoy. We have a lot of material to get through but I love questions\, so ask plenty as we go along! \nAll attendees will also receive a free 1-hour recorded webinar on productivity and my book on developing your own author merchandise/swag. \n  \nFeedback from previous workshops \n\nLoved it – thank you. Very knowledgeable and experienced tutor\, brilliant advice and tips.\n\n\nPicked up so many great ideas—can’t wait to put them into practice!\n\n\nConcise\, practical presentation\, good advice\, delivered with enthusiasm and credibility. \n\n  \n*This workshop will take place online via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants a week or so prior to the first session.   \nMelissa Addey writes richly researched historical fiction.
