You can drop-in any of the workshops\, or attend all of them! \nIn this workshop series\, we will be looking at some basics of storytelling\, poetry and different forms of creative writing. We will specifically workshop ways to tell stories about ourselves\, stories about our notions and understandings of home\, and stories about our neighbourhood\, Parc Extension. \nNO PRIOR EXPERIENCE is necessary to participate in these workshops! These workshops are intended to be fun\, interactive\, a space for exploring the power of stories\, and there will be both individual and group exercises. \n— The workshops will be facilitated in English and in French\, but participants are free to create in any language they wish. \n— There will be food provided at each of the workshops \n— No prior experience necessary \n— There will be an opportunity for any participants who wish to perform their poetry in public to do at an open mic on Sunday\, July 21. \nTHE WORKSHOPS ARE FREE

SUMMARY:Unravelling in Rhymes: Poetic Intuition
DESCRIPTION:Unravelling in Rhymes is a FREE creative writing workshop where we invite people of colour who identify as women\, trans\, gender nonconforming\, 2-spirit and non-binary\, ages 17-30 years old\, to come together in a safe(r)\, non-judgmental and supportive space and share an afternoon of writing and sharing. \nIn past workshops we have found that this space is more one of healing\, sharing our stories (sometimes for the first time)\, and connecting with other people of colour and creating community\, more than it is about the writing we create. \nFree! Refreshments provided. \nPlease register for this workshop by providing a name and contact on the link below (Spaces are limited):\nhttps://forms.gle/nQhRKtwZ8pp74bJE9 \nFacilitator: Kat Louis\nKat Louis is a young writer\, poet\, spoken word performer and singer in Montreal. She’s currently pursuing a career as a therapist to work on healing immigrants and QTBIPOC fems from intergenerational trauma using community-based group therapy\, drama therapy with storytelling and cognitive behavioural therapy to restore the mental health of these populations.
