SUMMARY:Toot Your Own Horn: Compose Your Literary CV
DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE\, THIS WORKSHOP HAS BEEN CANCELLED. PLEASE CONTACT SUR PLACE MEDIA FOR ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS.\n  \nA CV is a method of introduction. A literary CV shines a light on your literary activities. Whether applying for funding or submitting a manuscript for consideration\, it’s a simple way to highlight your accomplishments. \nDuring the workshop\, participants will create a literary CV. We will discuss the sections of a literary CV and ways to present—and highlight—our accomplishments. Participants will write an artistic statement\, organize their list of publications\, and fill in the framework of a CV. Participants should expect to spend a few hours outside of class time to compile and type their accomplishments into a Word document. \nRegistration deadline: January 7th\, 2021. \nBlossom Thom is a poet and editor. She is the author of #HashtagRelief (Gaspereau Press\, 2017) and her poetry has appeared during art collaborations and in literary magazines and anthologies including Poetic Notions: A Weaving of Poetry and Visual Arts\, Kola: A Black Literary Magazine\, and Montréal Serai. A mentorship with George Elliott Clarke set the groundwork for her work-in-progress and was supported by a Professional Development for Artists Grant from the Canada Council for the Arts. \nPlease see event link for further details.

For our next meeting\, we will gather virtually on December 2nd at 7pm to discuss LOVE AFTER THE END: An Anthology of Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer Speculative Fiction\, edited by Joshua Whitehead. \nWhere and How Can I purchase the book? Via our webstore of course: http://mtl.drawnandquarterly.com/posts/webstore-faq \nWe Ship Canada-wide & deliver to some postal codes near the store in Montreal!\nBy purchasing your book at Librairie Drawn & Quarterly you help support events like this one\, independent publishing and retailing\, our neighborhood\, and authors both local and from around the world who depend on independent bookstores for their livelihood. Your support is appreciated.3 \n/////////////////////////////////////////// \nLOVE AFTER THE END \nA bold and breathtaking anthology of queer Indigenous speculative fiction\, edited by the author of Jonny Appleseed. \nThis exciting and groundbreaking fiction collection showcases a number of new and emerging 2SQ (Two-Spirit and queer) Indigenous writers from across Turtle Island. These visionary authors show how queer Indigenous communities can bloom and thrive through utopian narratives that detail the vivacity and strength of 2SQness throughout its plight in the maw of settler colonialism’s histories.\nHere\, readers will discover bioengineered AI rats\, transplanted trees in space\, the rise of a 2SQ resistance camp\, a primer on how to survive Indigiqueerly\, virtual reality applications\, mother ships at sea\, and the very bending of space-time continuums queered through NDN time. Love after the End demonstrates the imaginatively queer Two-Spirit futurisms we have all been dreaming of since 1492.\nContributors include Nathan Adler\, Darcie Little Badger\, Gabriel Castilloux Calderon\, Adam Garnet Jones\, Mari Kurisato\, Kai Minosh Pyle\, David Alexander Robertson\, jaye simpson\, and Nazbah Tom.
