DESCRIPTION:An evening of multi-disciplinary storytelling about rejecting binary propositions of existence and finding home in the space between. This event format is meant to collapse the perceived divide between artist\, audience and the human condition at large. \nExpect to notice\, react and alchemize with us in real time.\n \nReadings and performances by \n\nEli Tareq El Bechelany-Lynch\nJosiane Ménard\nEve-Parker Finley\n\nCurated & hosted by  \nAlexandra Apple\, QWF’s 2026 Fresh Pages Guest Curator \nDoors at 6:30 p.m.\nPerformances at 7:00 p.m. \nAccessibility: The venue is in the basement and can only be reached by walking down a set of stairs. There is a handrail. Bathrooms are on the same level as the venue. There is seating reserved for those who need.\n \n— \nEvery audience member will receive a mini zine of prompts to guide you through the evening\, readings and performances. You’re invited to express yourself on the pages as the show rolls on. \nAfter the integration period (aka intermission) we’ll step into embodiment by meeting our neighbours\, swapping zines with each other and sharing our favourite pages. \n*Note that there is a segment where scent is involved\, more specifically a few scent strips will be passed out during one of the performances. you are welcome to opt-out if you are scent sensitive. \nGet Tickets\n  \n\nA component of QWF’s Fresh Pages Diversity Initiative\, the Guest Curatorship at the Words & Music Show is designed to help an aspiring literary artist who is Black\, Indigenous\, or a person of colour develop skills in creating and curating literary arts events. Enticing him with tales of grime and glory\, he convinces Moe to join his band\, Guilt Trip.This opens the door to a world of aging musician journeymen and a local music scene that is soiled and sexy\, alluring and dangerous. The Guilt Trippers is a darkly funny and moving take on modern parenthood\, the Montréal music scene\, and some of the musicians who call it home. \nABOUT THE AUTHOR\nPhilippe Mineau\, a life partner and father to two young boys\, has worked in a lab coat firing lasers at proteins in Denmark\, played accordion for jazz manouche and Forró bands\, worked as an illegal migrant fruit picker and farm labourer\, and written policy on psychedelic drugs for the federal government.He currently runs a music studio in Montreal’s Little Italy\, plays in the pop rock band Radio Patente\, and tries to spend as much of his summers as possible on the water\, canoe paddle in hand. The Guilt Trippers is his first novel. He lives in Montreal.
