Learn about managing a literary magazine and help curate an issue of the Quebec Writers’ Federation’s online literary magazine, carte blanche.

Each year, the Fresh Pages Editorial Mentorship gives a Quebec-based writer the chance to learn about editing or managing literary magazines.

For the 2024 Editorial Mentorship, the selected candidate will work with Managing Editor Zoe Shaw to oversee the production of issue 49 of carte blanche, gaining coordination and administration skills while learning how to manage a literary magazine.

The mentorship provides:

  • Approximately 15 hours of mentorship between July and August 2024
  • An $800 honorarium
  • A free one-year membership (or extension of membership) in the Quebec Writers’ Federation

The mentorship will go to a Quebec-based writer who shows promise and has an interest in arts administration or managing literary magazines, but who has not yet had an opportunity to work as an editor. Applicants do not need to be QWF members.
