Apply by January 9, 2024

The Quebec Writers’ Federation (QWF) is seeking a temporary, part-time coordinator to work on a new artistic development project, funded by the Conseil des arts de Montréal (CAM), to take place at six libraries or community organizations on the West Island of Montreal in 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating with and acting as a liaison between QWF and other stakeholders to oversee the unfolding of the project. The project coordinator will have staggered responsibilities from mid-January through September 2024. The project can be managed remotely, although some in-person meetings may occur.

About the Project Activities

The “QWF West Island Project” will offer two or three professional writers paid opportunities to propose, develop, and deliver a “co-creation project” to the constituents of one or two partner libraries or community organizations in the West Island, for a total of six activities. These co-creation projects have the goal of engaging the public in a creative writing process that will simultaneously help the writer to develop their own artistic practice. Each project, depending on its format, is anticipated to last approximately eight weeks, or, if delivered in a more intensive format, approximately four weeks. The project activities will take place between April and September 2024. A final presentation of the work developed during the six activities of the “QWF West Island Project“ will take place on the West Island in September 2024.

A separate call for project proposals, to be finalized in conjunction with the project coordinator, will be published on January 25, 2024.
