Ah-Ma’s Home with Gillian Sze

Poet and children’s book author Gillian Sze will read her beautiful new book, Ah Ma’s Home, to kids of all ages in the Babar Kids’ Book Nook. The story of a child whose grandmother tells enchanting stories of her childhood in China, Ah Ma’s Home tenderly engages with immigration, relationships bridging generations, and the way a child’s imagination helps her understand how to fit into her world. Gillian will be available to sign books following the reading at the Babar Books table.
Gillian Sze is a poet and children’s writer. She is the recipient of the Pat Lowther Memorial Award for Quiet Night Think and the QWF’s A. M. Klein Poetry Prize for her latest book, An Orange, A Syllable. Her books for children have been shortlisted for the Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Children’s Book Awards and CBC Kids Read. She teaches creative writing and literature at Concordia University.
