Argo 50th Anniversary Party

In 1969, following a fire at the old store on the south side of Ste. Catherine, Mr. John George relocated the Argo Bookshop to its current location at 1915 Ste. Catherine West. 50 years later, the Argo is the oldest independent English-language bookstore in Montreal, which is something to celebrate!

In 2017, two friends took on the helm of the Argo, gave it a sprucing up, and put in a slate of weekly events, a lounge space, and a wide new selection of books. Two years later, we think the community of writers and readers that have come together around the store is something to celebrate, too!

So please join us on Sunday, July 28, for this double anniversary party, and enjoy cupcakes, discounts, guest booksellers, decorations, and giveaways! This place has always been about community, so let’s celebrate the past and future of the Argo together.
