Book Launch: Words of Summer
Words of Summer is a tanka-like conversation between two poets, Elizabeth Paulette-Coughlin and Jennifer Boire, who wrote to each other every day from mid-June until late August one year, documenting the unfolding season. Tanka has been used for over a thousand years as an art form and medium of communication, often by women, using nature imagery and seasonal references to indirectly suggest emotion.
A videopoem was recorded with photos and video by Virginie Nolin. Inside the book is a QR code to watch the 28-minute video of the authors reading.
