Join us for this 90-minute Lunch & Learn session with Throw! Poetry Collective, one of Montreal’s leading spoken word event organizers. Throw! President Michael “BeWyrd” Clarke will present a high-level overview of the collective, including their monthly open mics and slam competitions. A Q&A with the audience will follow the presentation.

The Throw! Poetry Collective is comprised of people interested in poetry and performance. Every month, Throw! organizes competitive yet friendly poetry slams at Montreal’s Le Basement, featuring an Open Mic, a Sacrificial Poet, a Feature Performer, and randomly chosen judges. About BeWyrd

Michael “BeWyrd” Clarke is a slam poet based in Tio’tia:ke (aka Montréal). He won QWF’s Ian Ferrier Spoken Word Award in 2023. He helps produce the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam (CIPS). He has been the President of the Throw! Poetry Collective for nearly a decade.
