Deadline for applications: 9am, Monday, January 20, 2020.

Are you a Quebec resident over the age of 21 years, who has an English language prose fiction project that you’re burning to find some space and time to develop in 2020?

Would you like to spend an all-expenses paid month in St Patrick’s Park Lodge, a cottage in the grounds of St Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland to do just that?

St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin, Ireland

The Max Margles Writing Residency may be for you! This new international residency is a beautiful opportunity for an English-language writer from Quebec to spend four weeks to reflect, research, and write as they need in August 2020. Flights, accommodation, insurance, living expenses (approx. $42 per day), and a stipend of $2,000 are offered to the successful applicant.

In 2020, the Residency is offered to a QWF Member writing in English-language prose fiction. Writers of all levels and experiences are encouraged to apply, via our Submittable site.

The deadline for applications is 9am on Monday, January 20, 2020. It’s free to apply, although you must be a QWF Member in good standing. Information on joining the Quebec Writers’ Federation can be found here.

Please read through the full details of the Residency, including eligibility criteria and application process before submitting your application.

If you have any questions or queries about the Residency or any other stage of the process, please contact Project Manager Rachel McCrum on [email protected].
