The Fall 2019 QWF Workshops are now open for registration – and with our new website, you can now book and pay online!
We’re offering, as usual, a mix of 8-week evening workshops, and half- and full-day Saturday workshops. Whatever your level of writing, whatever your interest or genre… we’ve got something for you.
For our 8-week workshops, we have ways to preserve story in memoir writing with Gina Roitman; intensively workshopping creative non-fiction with Shelagh Plunkett; jumpstarting the playwriting process with Alexandria Haber; expanding your poetic range with Kelly Norah Drukker; tackling the first page of short or long fiction with David Homel; the very short story with Rose Gowen; and investigating short fiction and emotional impact with Paige Cooper.
For our Saturday workshops, we have research for picture books with Anne Renaud; how to pitch and sell your work with Julie Barlow; and tackling controversial topics in journalism with Joseph Rosen.
Places are limited to 12 places per workshop, so that each participant is guaranteed plenty of individual attention and feedback. All workshops are held in the QWF Office (Atwater Library and Computer Centre) – please see here for access information.
QWF Members and Student Members, make sure that you’re logged into your Member accounts on the website to receive the discount. If you’re not a Member yet, consider joining – only $40 for 12 months, or $15 if you are a full time student! You’ll receive a discounted rate on these and future workshops.
