The Twentieth International Writers’ and Artists’ Festival in Val-David

The International Writers’ and Artists’ Residence in Val-David is hosting its 20th edition of their Literary Festival, entitled La moisson lyrique des baies sauvages (The Lyrical Wild Berries Harvest). The festival takes place over the weekend of the 28th and 29th of September 2019.

The festival takes place at the Writers and Artists’ Residence in the village of Val-David, a short distance from Montreal and Mont-Tremblant. The residence serves as an author and artist retreat year-round, and is owned by poet, author and translator Flavia Cosma.

This year’s edition of the festival features readings and talks with writers from around the globe, including Argentina, Romania, Chile, Brazil, Bolivia, Italy, Iceland, Cuba, The United States and Canada.

Hosted by Flavia Cosma and MarieAnnie Soleil, the weekend kicks off with a series of author presentations, including a remote presentation given by Luis Raul Calvo, from Bueno Aires, who will be launching his book Acto secreto/Atto segreto.

The festival also features a series of talks on a variety of literary topics, such as an Introduction to new Argentine Literature and “The Burning Books: Fragments of History from Lost Books”.

Sunday, September 29th at 4:00pm, the closing of this 20th edition will be held at Le Centre D’Exposition de Val-David, with all the participants performing in front of a larger local audience.
