Janice is a researcher/writer for television documentaries. She’s worked on documentaries for CBC, BBC, NFB, APTN, Maori TV and the Discovery Channel. Her work has won awards in Canada and abroad including the Prix Jeunesse International Jury Prize and Hot Docs: Best Documentary For Youth.
Using technology readily available on personal devices her hands-on workshop features creative exercises that isolate the elements of video story making and then show, in a fun way, how juxtaposition is a powerful character and plot making tool. This introduction provides practical skill sets for future videos the students might produce as class projects.
