Lukidis, Lydia

Lydia Lukidis is an award-winning author of 55+ trade and educational books for children. Another passion of hers is fostering a love for literacy through the writing workshops she regularly gives in schools across Quebec. Lydia offers two different workshops for CEGEP level students:

  1. The Magic of the Written Word:
This interactive workshop will focus on how to write engaging literature for children. Certain key concepts will be emphasized such as show don’t tell, narrative arcs, the power of compelling hooks, and world building. This workshop can be tailored to suit fiction or nonfiction writing, depending on the interests of the students.
  2. How to Make a Living as an Artist:
How can you make a living as an artist? How can you diversify your talents and generate several streams of income? The presentation will begin by outlining Lydia’s multi-disciplinary career which spans the realms of English literature, journalism, art, and science. The author will also discuss the nature of the publishing industry and how to build your career as a writer. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions.
