Rachel McCrum is a poet, performer, promoter, platform builder, and workshop facilitator. Originally from Northern Ireland, she lived in Edinburgh, Scotland between 2010 and 2016, where she delivered writing, performance, zine and filmpoetry workshops for the Edinburgh International Book Festival, the Edinburgh International Festival, the Scottish Poetry Library, BBC Scotland, and many other nation-wide education programs. She has also delivered workshops in Greece, South Africa, and Canada. Her workshops can be tailored to the needs of the students. Typically, a workshop would look at explorations of voice and ways to ease students out of self-consciousness; playing with different elements of poetic craft, from odes to a body part to collaborative Surrealist poetry techniques to allows students to leave with a new set of tools to express themselves; to allows students feeling exhilarated, open, daring, and proud of themselves.
