Elaine Kalman Naves is an award-winning author of seven non-fiction titles and a novel. For many years she covered the Montreal literary scene as a literary columnist for the Montreal Gazette. The child of Holocaust survivors, she is the author of two memoirs that touch on the Holocaust and on issues of immigration and coming of age. In 2015, she testified in Germany at one of the last war crime trials of World War II. Elaine is an experienced workshop leader and writing mentor. She is known for her inspirational talks about creativity and her ability to elicit student writing of high quality.
