L. E. Sterling (Erin Vollick) is an award-winning author of books geared towards children, young adults, and new adults. Her 2017 novel True Born, first in a series of dystopian science-fiction/fantasy novels, was awarded the U.S.-based Athena Award for Excellence in Young Adult Literature. Drawing upon more than ten years of University and CEGEP teaching experience, Erin develops robust presentations and workshops that support CEGEP-level students in the development of fundamental critical thinking and writing skills, and she can tailor her appearances to the themes and objectives of individual courses. Presentation topics may include, but are not limited to, “Young Adult Literature,” and “Writing Dystopian Science Fiction Literature.” With her expertise in teaching creative writing, Erin is also excited to offer students writing workshops, particularly on the topics of “Writing Young Adult Literature” and “Literary Tropes, and how to write them.”
