Commentaries provide a critical forum for influencing public opinion, impacting policy, and exercising leadership. Through this workshop you will be guided, step-by-step, on how to clearly and persuasively craft publishable commentaries — including how to develop and master that proverbial ‘hook,’ which will enable your submission to stand out above all others.
As a trained professional on the intersection between psychology and the media, Lori Sokol will help you take your commentaries to the next level. You will learn how to establish your unique voice, why it matters, and how readers can learn from you.
You will learn:
- How to choose a topic worth writing about.
- How to know if your topic if of interest to a wide audience.
- How to develop trust with your reader.
- How to find research/evidence to support your claims.
- How to find a ‘hook’ to attract editors’ attention.
- How, where and when to submit.
Lori will provide critiquing of each finished submission privately via email.
