The 2026 QWF Literary Awards are now open to submissions
Submission forms and fees for the seven book prizes are due Wednesday, June 3, 2026, 5:00 p.m. ET. Submissions to the Ian Ferrier Spoken Word Prize are due Wednesday, July 8, 2026, 5:00 p.m. ET.
The Quebec Writers’ Federation is delighted to announce the calls for submissions for the 2026 QWF Awards to honour excellence in the categories of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, first book, translation, spoken word, playwriting, and children’s and young adult literature.
Eight prizes—each with a purse of $3,000—will be awarded in the categories of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, first book, translation, spoken word, playwriting, and children’s and young adult literature. For the spoken word prize, a total of $3,000 will be awarded to one to three winners at the jury’s discretion.
The winners of the awards will be revealed at the 2026 QWF Awards Gala on Monday, November 9, 2026 at the Cabaret Lion d’Or in Montreal.
The deadline to complete the submission forms and pay the submission fees for the seven book prizes is Wednesday, June 3, 2026, 5:00 p.m. ET. The deadline for the Ian Ferrier Spoken Word Prize is July 8, 2026, 5:00 p.m. ET
