When lockdown began, Montreal author & illustrator Marta Barnes sent out a request for photos of what people saw from outside their windows. Since everyone was seeing the same old sights every day, her goal was to offer a new perspective – and hopefully some cheer in a tough time.
This zine is a collection of those illustrations.

Since this project began with community in mind, it’s only right to give back to the community in its publication. For every zine sold, $2 will go to Dans la rue to help homeless and at-risk youth. After all, not everyone is lucky enough to have a window from which to share their view.

Fundraising will begin on Saturday April 3rd at noon on Marta Barnes’ Etsy shop and continue for all of April.

To learn more about Dans la rue or to make an independent donation, go to www.danslarue.org.

Marta Barnes is the author of the book “31 Palaeo Pals” (published 2020) and works under her artist name Studio Barn Owl. Follow her on Instagram @studio_barnowl or visit her website at www.studiobarnowl.com.
