Many of the projects we initiated in early 2020 could not continue once COVID-19 arrived. However, we managed to pivot four of the spring projects to online. thanks to the remarkable devotion and “can-do” attitude of our team of writer-facilitators and the support of staff at our partner organizations. In most cases, there was only one computer for the group to hover around, but everyone rose to the challenge and the kids who participated turned out some terrific work. One facilitator even took the online opportunity to make the final product a web site instead of the usual printed booklet. You can check it out at https://maskedpoets.weebly.com/. In all, we completed 10 projects last year, reaching 137 young people.

I particularly liked the fact that we would write a lot and there wasn’t very much theory and
young writerwe would become better by writing every day.
